Half Marathon Finish

Running Accomplishments:

There isn't a lot to say about my running. I have been running off and on for 5 years and I want to get better and test my limits. I am pretty much starting from scratch.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I want to complete the Moab 1/2 Marathon in October and to be able to be comfortable running.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Maybe someday a whole marathon would be amazing! :)

Personal:

I am a student at Utah State University and I came home from an LDS mission in December 2007.  I think if I can do that, I can complete a 1/2 marathon.

4 miles that killed me because I'm a dork and didn't run over the weekend at all! Ah! I think I am getting a little bored with the 4 miles per day and I want to do something that is more or just different and an addition to what I am currently running. Plus, not so smart that I didn't run the weekend before a 5k I will be running this weekend in SLC! Lesson learned.

Are you doing a race this weekend? I know Sasha says to run every day... so don't tattle on me, but I find that if I run *every* day, I get burnt out. So I alternate running and riding my bike 6 days a week. I run Monday, Wednesdays, and a long run on Saturday. All the other days I try to bike. If I don't bike (because of weather or something), I do kickboxing. It keeps me feeling good and I think cross training is good because it gets you to work your muscles in a different way. Just a thought!

When you choose to run less in training, you also choose to run slower in a race. Never mind boredom. It does not prevent aerobic development. If you want to well you need to learn how to make running fun, or just plain power through the boredom.

Camilla,

Are you ready for your race? We haven't heard anything from you since Tuesday. Are you okay?
